The purpose of our volunteer program is to provide support to client services, provide outreach and education, plan, support, and execute fundraising efforts and assist in the daily operation of the office.The volunteers of LHT work independently as a part of the team to assure the vision statement holds true: To build a community in which people, regardless of health or economic status, have access to justice.
The goal of the Multicultural Legal Services Program is to provide legal services in the areas of immigration and family law to immigrant and refugee victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. We are the only agency in North Texas providing free, comprehensive legal representation in both family law and immigration.
Each LANWT branch office has a Pro Bono Coordinator(Equal Justice Volunteer Program Coordinator), who is responsable for managing pro bono opportunities for volunteer lawyers. Volunteer opportunities vary somewhat, but all LANWT offices conduct clinics that are staffed in part by volunteer lawyers. All clients of the pro bono programs must meet LANWT eligibility requirements.
